Dr David Houston

Graduating in Griffith University’s foundation class of 2008 Dr David Houston was thurst into practice ownership shortly after when his father retired and sold him John Street Dental Redcliffe.

With a passion for the business of dentistry pushing him and his wife Karin forward they built Australia Dental Clontarf in 2012 from scratch and completed a walk in walk out renovation to create Australia Dental Burpengary in 2014.

2014 was also the year that Dave stepped out of a front line clinical role to take to the position of Group Operations Manager, a position he still holds today.

Through business education and an emphasis on positive culture the Australia Dental Group now employs 12 dentists and works hard to maintain its history of year on year growth.

In his spare time Dave is also the general manager for shadeguide.com.au an online dental product ordering portal that compares 20 suppliers – a solution born out of his operational frustration with the laborious nature of ordering stock at the best price.

In his presentation “Growth Hacking – systems where I’ve found success” Dave will share the obstacles and milestones along his journey and the systems that helped his local group break through and continue to grow.
